Reveal Covers Saga Of Abuse And Misconduct By Philly Detective
A recent episode of the Reveal podcast from the Center for Investigative Reporting, Philadelphia Inquirer reporters Chris Palmer and Samantha Melamed broke down their reporting into the career of Homicide Detective Philip Nordo and allegations against him of fabricating evidence and coercing false statements during investigations.
Palmer was previously selected as a 2022 Harry Frank Guggenheim/John Jay Reporting Fellow. Prosecutors ultimately found that Nordo coerced and abused a number of incarcerated men during his tenure, and last week he was sentenced to 24.4 years in prison.
