Latest New Jersey Gun Bill Wins Police Support

New Jersey Democrats are fighting to maintain the state’s strict gun laws following the decision in New York State Rifle & Pistol Association, Inc. v. Bruen. With their fourth attempt at a bill on gun control, New Jersey Democrats have won the support of the New Jersey Police, Nikita Biryukov reports for the New Jersey Monitor. The latest amendments changed portions of the bill banning firearms in sensitive places, making the gun categories a bit more specific called, “destructive devices,” like grenades and other firearms. However, unlike in New York City, lawmakers don’t seek to restrict the possession of guns alone in sensitive spaces, provisions that would face steep challenges.
