Kevin Spacey, Other Hollywood Elite Head To Court For Decades of Alleged Sexual Assault

The actor Kevin Spacey is headed to Manhattan federal court where jury selection is scheduled to begin for a $40 million civil lawsuit from Anthony Rapp, who accuses Spacey of forcibly touching him when he was 14 years old, Luc Cohen reports for Reuters. Rapp, who starred in the Broadway musical “Rent,” alleged in a November 2020 lawsuit that Spacey sexually assaulted him during a party at Spacey’s home in New York.  Spacey has denied Rapp’s accusation along with other allegations of sexual misconduct.

Meanwhile, NPR reports that Eric Weinberg, an executive producer and writer for the hit TV show “Scrubs” and many others, has been charged with 18 felony counts of sexual assualt against five women whom he lured to photo shoots and possibly many more. The alleged attacks took place between 2014 and 2019, but investigators say they believe there may be other victims of assaults dating back to the 1990s.
