Jury Convicts Two Men of Plotting to Kidnap Michigan Gov

Barry Croft and Adam Fox have been convicted of plotting to kidnap Michigan’s Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, reports the New York Times. The case received national attention amidst rising fears of political violence. Last spring, jurors acquitted two other men in the same plot, leaving a guilty verdict in this case uncertain throughout the trial. Both men were convicted of kidnapping conspiracy and conspiracy to use a weapon of mass destruction. Overall, of the six men charged in federal court regarding the kidnapping plot, two pleaded guilty, two were acquitted at trial and two were convicted.
