Former CNN Producer Takes Plea Deal in Child Sex Abuse Case

Former CNN producer John Griffin took a plea deal after previously pleading not guilty to three counts of enticement of a minor, Lisa Rathke reports for NBC Connecticut. As part of the plea agreement, two of the three charges were dropped. According to the plea deal, Griffin met a woman on a website during the summer of 2020. He then persuaded the woman to bring her 9-year-old daughter to his ski home in Vermont, where he engaged in illegal sexual activity with the child. He faces a possible sentence of at least 10 years and up to life in prison when he is sentenced on March 20, 2023, and a fine of up to $250,000, including other financial losses.
