Army Lt. Heads To Court In Assault Suit Against Virginia Police

On Monday, Army Lieutenant Caron Nazario will argue to a jury that in 2020 he was falsely imprisoned, searched and assaulted during a stop by Virginia police where he was pepper sprayed and hit but never arrested, Ben Finley reports for the Associated Press. The trial begins today, Monday, Jan 9, in Richmond, Virginia.

“The officers involved not only assaulted Mr. Nazario, but pointed their weapons directly at him and, at some point during the encounter, threatened to kill him,” the suit alleges.
