Alaska Police Chief Placed on Leave, Indicted on Alleged Off-Duty Assault

In Ketchikan, Alaska, Police Chief Jeffrey Walls has been placed on leave after a grand jury indicted him on six charges, including felony assault, Tim Rockey reports for the Alaska News Source. The incident allegedly occurred while Walls was off duty at the Salmon Falls Resort in Ketchikan. Walls is accused of pushing a man into a wall and putting him in a chokehold after the man “intentionally” stumbled into Walls and his wife’s bar chair. Walls faces up to five years in prison.
