97-Year-old Former Nazi Secretary Convicted by German Court

Irmgard Furchner, 97, has been convicted of being an accessory to murder while working as a secretary to the SS commander of the Nazis’ Stutthod concentration camp during World War II, Geir Moulson reports for the Associated Press. The German court gave her a two-year suspended sentence. Furchner was tried in juvenile court since she was under 21 at the time of the alleged crimes. Previously, she had attempted to skip the start of her trial in September 2021 but was later found by police and placed in detention for several days.
